Horon wasted no
time at all as he ran to his horse and picked up his sword. “What have you
found?” asked Horon to Quin.
“We found foot tracks and lots of them” said Quin.
“Well then let’s go!” Horon said as he mounted his horse. So,
everyone got on their horse and rode to freedom! Wait, no I mean they followed
the foot tracks. Late in the afternoon they found where the foot tracks ended
but where they ended was just a rock overlooking a small valley. “Father!”
Horon shouted as he reached the top of the rock “where are you?” Just then he
heard a cracking and then…BOOM! The next thing Horon knew he was falling down a
twenty foot hole and then nothing. Horon opened his eyes but it was just as
dark as when they were closed. He tried to stand but when he tried he fell down “great,”
he thought, “now my leg’s broken.” “Horon!” cried Quin as he descended down the hole using a
rope. When he got to the bottom he picked up Horon and pulled him back up.
After about an hour of getting to the doctor and getting a crutch they went
back to the hole, went down in it and searched the place. “This must be the
place where the raiders hid while gathering up more forces,” said Quin.
“Ye-” Horon started to say but just then a few guards walked
around the corner.
“Get down!” Quin shouted
“Did you hear something?” one of the guards said.
“No, but I do think that all that wine has gone to your head”
another replied. Then, they walked around the corner and were out of sight.
“That was a close one,” said Quin.
“Yeah, we should find my father and get out of here” said
Horon.
“Agreed.” So, after about an hour of searching they finally
they found the jail cells. “Father!” Horon shouted in the loudest whisper he
could make. “Who are you?” said a voice behind him “You don’t look like a
guard.” Said the voice. Horon spun around “father, is that you?” Horon said as he opened the cell.
“Horon!” said Alkon “it’s you!”
“Father!” Horon said in a voice that was much too loud.
“Hey, it sounds like someone is in the cells come on!” they
heard someone upstairs say.
“RUN!” said Quin and that’s what they did… well Horon limped
as fast as he could but I wouldn’t call it a run. A few minutes later they were
out of the base and running towards the castle with about two hundred raiders
behind them. Horon took Quin’s horn and blew it as loud as he could.
Baaaaaaaaagggggggguuuuuuuueeeeehhhhhhhmmmm was pretty much what it sounded
like. About ten minutes later a giant army arrived with the prince in the lead
on a horse. Then all at once the battle began and everything was so blurry that
Horon just swung and then he hit someone. First, he heard a scream and then he
saw his sword in a raider’s leg. Horon pulled it out just in time to block an
attack with his sword by the raider, bang!
The swords hit together, whoosh!! The sword just missed Horon. Horon hit the
raider as hard as he could with his crutch in the head the stabbed him in the
chest. The raider fell to the ground dead and Horon was about to celebrate but
he heard a crunch! As an axe broke
his crutch and sliced his leg, “Ahhhh!” Horon screamed in pain. Horon fell to
the ground was this it? He thought as
the raider raised his axe. Horon closed his eyes “Ahhhh!” He heard but it
didn’t come from his mouth. Slowly, Horon opened his eyes and then he saw what
had happened. The raider had two arrows in his chest. Horon turned and saw Quin
holding a bow and smiling. Then all at once it was over, they had won!
Three days after the battle Horon was called to the castle
but no one said why. When he got there he saw at least one hundred people,
Quin, the prince and his father standing at the far end of the hall. “Come
here, son” said Alkon. Horon walked up to end of the hall where blue banners
hung above him. “Kneel,” the prince said. Horon Kneeled and then Alkon took a
sword, dubbed him and said: “I dub you Sir Horon, the Fearless!”
